The Most Amazing Story Ever Written: Part Two

Chapter 2 - Guest Author: Hammy

"Of all things, don't just stand there boys! The dragons are hungry! I know you're surprised and so are we. Last thing we need are the dragons going through our own food supply!" Kate smugly spoke as she watched the boys and dragons crane their heads in her direction as if she was weird.

**Ah-hem... it's dragonlings.** Sent Tzorn and Zarsim.

Kate rolled her eyes then looked at the boys as they started to giggle. "Ok ok, dragonlings."

David started laughing, but Kate quickly hushed him with one quick 'look' in his direction. He immediately stopped, but the corners of his mouth simply couldn't stop curling upwards. Kate gave up and headed for the fridge for a drink.

The boys shook their heads giggling and walked outside, followed by their dragons. Before they moved any further, some of the closer chickens became nervous and started making noise. The boys noticed this, looked at each other then back towards the dragons.

"Wait right here and we'll get you your food." Both boys spoke in unison then looked at each other and giggled. The dragons just stood there eyeing all the animals in the yard. Sure they heard the boys, but chose to ignore them. Hunger was quickly taking over and the boys hurriedly tried to catch the chickens with a few unsuccessful attempts.

Kate and David were watching while David held Doug to watch. "They sure know how to catch a chicken. Yet, it still doesn't mean they don't know how to cho..." David was suddenly interrupted by a jab in his ribs from Kate as she looked over with an evil glare in her eye. "Okay, okay, I'll go and help. You take Doug." David handed Doug to Kate and left the Kitchen to help the boys. Kate watched David catch a few chickens as the boys watched in wonder how easily David caught them.

"Dad," Josh began, wanting to take a chance at a funny sight, "does this mean you have more experience choking the chicken."

"Josh..." David shook his head and chuckled while Jason laughed. "Ok boys, these are free, the next you will have to learn to catch them!"

"But dad..."

"Hey now, if I could do it, you can. After all, it's a learning process." David smiled warmly as he held out the squirming chickens in his hands to the boys. They took a step closer, grabbed the chicken and proceeded to walk towards their dragonlings. With unsure feelings on how to feed them, they were still holding them out and looked at one another then shrugged. In a flash, both dragonlings snatched the chickens from their hands with their mouths and in less than a minute, there were nothing left but a few feathers scattered around on the ground.

**Mmmm, good! Still hungry!** Zarsim sent.

**As am I.** Tzorn followed.

Jason looked from his dragonling to Josh, "Round 2!"

Josh smiled then followed Jason's lead towards the flock. This time, they approached with caution and managed to grab their chickens with less effort. David saw this before entering the house and gave them thumbs up. Both boys smiled and wanted to flip him the bird, but thought better of it. Instead, they just lifted their arms up with the chickens in it and flipped them. David shook his head and entered the house. The feeding went on till the dragonlings sent they were full and needed rest.

When the boys were finally done and before they could enter the house, Kate stopped them with her hand up. "You two might as well take a shower. I don't know if your dragonlings would need one and I haven't got the faintest idea where they are going to stay. I suppose they can sleep with you tonight until they get to be too big. We'll have to somehow find a way to build a stable of some sort for them."

**We are not horses. We are dragonlings.** Tzorn and Zarsim sent in unison to everyone.

Kate chuckled, "That may be true, but since you will need shelter of some sort, we need to build it for you two in order to provide at least, some protection from the weather. I just can't figure out how we will manage that and keep anyone from noticing."

Josh piped up, "But mom, Levi said this universe is magical, we might as well see more magical things happen, sooner or later." Little did Josh know, the former was about to happen rather sooner than anyone could think!

"Well, we'll talk tomorrow. Off to the showers, boys! I'll tend to Doug. You can bathe him afterwards." Kate smiled evilly. She made sure to remind Josh every now and then to take care of Doug.

Josh rolled his eyes and hugged his mom then gave Doug a kiss on the forehead before grabbing Jason's hand, pulling him towards the shower. The boys spent quite some time in the shower as they wanted to relax and enjoy themselves. Kate began to wonder what was taking them so long. She began to climb the stairs and noticed Josh drying himself off with only boxers on.

"Almost had to send a search party after ya. At least you were quiet!"

Josh blushed, "Mooom.... we kinda fell asleep."

Kate giggled, "Sureeee... but I did give Doug his bath. He is already sleeping so you two might as well head for bed. Your dragonlings are eager to join ya for their first night's sleep."

"They might need help with the stairs, so we might need to carry them up here." Jason piped up as he joined Josh's side."

Josh nodded and heard something in his head, **Do not get too used to carrying us around!** Jason heard the same and giggled.

Kate shook her head as the boys walked past her to collect their dragonlings. Moments later, they returned with their dragonling in their arms and headed towards the bedroom. Nothing more was said and the lights were immediately off. It wasn't long till David and Kate went to bed.

Once all was silent, a blueish glow formed outside the house, revealing an energy being and another humanoid child that appeared to look 12. He had moppy light brown hair with blond highlights and dark blue eyes. He was wearing regular clothes, like what all other kids his age wore.

"I thought they'd never go to bed." The humanoid spoke, with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

"Oh relax, Rand. You should give them a break at least." The energy being said as he began to take the shape of a human boy of about 11. The boy had white hair, with several streaks of blue highlights. His eyes were red and was extremely cute. He was dressed in white clothes and white shoes. Both boys had similar appearances as they were both thin, but no where near starving.

Rand sighed, "I know, Bel. Its just sometimes I can't help it."

"You can't change who you are, but you could at least be nicer." Bel suggested, placing a quick peck on Rand's cheek.

"Well, if you insist... " At the snap of his fingers, a huge stable appeared out of nowhere and a fence as well to contain the animals. "There, that should do, whatcha think?"

Bel shook his head, "At least they won't have to do much work."

"Yea, and I did all the hard work."

Bel elbowed Rand in the ribs, earning him a sharp glare. He giggled then decided to take a look around. Something other than the land and scenery caught his eye. "Hey, what's that thing out there? There isn't much wind but that tree looks like its swaying."

"Huh?" Rand shifted his attention from the newly built stable to Bel, then to the direction he was looking at. In a blue flash, they were standing right next to the swaying tree, watching the 450 some odd pound man swaying from his shoe lace. "That looks like it's gunna break. Should we...?"

Bel quickly grabbed his arm and shook his head. "That man has done something bad, lets see now..." Bel paused then crooked his head in one direction, then another, as if he was studying the figure swaying back n fourth. "...If I could just make the lace a tad stronger..." The shoe lace began to strengthen then change color to a light blue. "...there. That should be good for a while, but him decaying is another story."

"I thought turning him into algae would be more fun." Rand replied raising his arm again, as if to 'snap' him into algae. Bel glanced over his shoulder with a look that said no. "You're no fun."

"He stays, now lets make the pendulum man swing more..." Bel held up his finger and pointed at the fat man. He stopped in mid air, as if a magnet was pulling him towards it. Bel moved his finger higher and let go when he retracted his finger. "...music to my ears!"

"Yes and we missed him." Rand scowed. "I don't wanna keep running all my life for being who I am. They want to destroy me, they're gunna have to try harder. At least they can't dimension jump like you can. I thought all god-like beings respected one another, but from what father says, it doesn't appear to be the case."

Bel sighed, "For whatever its worth, I knew from the start, you were different from the rest. I can't speak for them, but I can speak for you after sharing your experiences like no other. Whether he was our last hope, we just can't hide here. In another 36 hours, i'm sure someone from my species will come looking for me. This could start a war no one would want. I know you have your own to deal with but I can't keep defending you all the time."

"Yet you still do. I know I love you with all my heart and I know you love me the same, if not more. I just can't understand why they can't be accepting." Rand spoke with a hint of sadness in his voice.

"Well, lets take some rest, introduce ourselves to the family then leave. It would be rude not to." Bel quickly added as he saw Rand's expression change slightly about meeting them.

"Ah, if I have to..."

Morning came all too fast for the family and the dragonlings were the first to wake up at first light. They looked around, stretched and yawned before sending a message to their riders.

**We are hungry**

The boys appeared to be sleeping, but they were gently rubbing themselves and trying to concentrate on the task at hand but the dragonlings were persistient.

Feeling ignored, Tzorn and Zarsim looked at each other then carefully wobbled up to the foot of the bed and grabbed onto the sheet that was sticking out with their mouths and gave it a slight tug. Some resistance was felt and they tugged it even harder, yanking the sheets off the beds and onto themselves.

**Who turned the lights out?!** Tzorn sent to everyone.

**Why did it become dark so suddenly?** Zarsim sent as well.

This sent the boys laughing at their antics and as soon as they finished laughing, they put their shorts on and headed outside. Once Jason and Josh went to look for a few chickens, they completely forgot to bring their dragonlings with them. Ignoring the new structure outside, they walked back in muttering about some weird stable and 2 boys sleeping inside it. They weren't exactly wide awake yet since it was at the crack of dawn. As they walked up the steps to collect their dragonlings, they overheard Kate chattering in David's ear about a stable that was needed. On the boys' way back down with Tzorn and Zarsim in hand, Josh stopped short of Kate's room and simply stated how there already is a stable sitting outside. Kate was flabbergasted at the news as it was way too sudden to have such a structure already there. She thought there was no way Levi would have been back so soon, so she shook her head as if she was hearing things.

Once Jason and Josh exited the house and headed for the chicken coop, they grabbed a few chickens and brought them back to their dragonlings. Once Tzorn and Zarsim were satisfied, they thanked their riders and also sent an extra message, **Thank you for building the stable.**

Jason was barely awake, but Josh was almost fully awake till his mind finally sorted the words out.

"Stable... what stable?" Josh looked to his left then to his right then froze. "Holy shit! We have a stable! MOOOOMM!!!!!!!!!"

"Dude! Not so loud!" Jason whined while rubbing his left ear from the sudden shout. He then turned in the direction Josh was looking at, "Holy shit is right! Look! Theres someone there! Com'on!" Both boys took off for the stable just as Kate and David arrived at the door to simply shake their heads at the latest surprise.

Once Jason and Josh arrived at the stable, they saw 2 boys sleeping peacefully.

"Damn, they're cute..." Josh spoke, thinking out loud.

"Yea, I agree!" Jason commented, beginning to feel aroused at the sight.

The blue-white haired boy began to stir first, followed by the brunette with blond highlights. "I thought I heard voices..." The blue-white boy spoke then his eyes went big as saucers as he finally realized what the 'voices' were. "Rand! Wake up!"

"What is it, Bel?" Rand shifted his weight so he could sit up. He was looking inside the stable at first then craned his head around towards the outside then screamed! Suddenly he disappeared in a blue flash, causing Bel to giggle madly, followed by Jason and Josh.

"You'll have to forgive Rand, he isn't used to surprises and scares easily. My name is Bel, and the one who disappeared is Rand. We had come here to escape our universe for a bit, but I'm not going to explain it all as we will need to get going shortly." Bel sighed looking around at the stable then at nothing in particular. "Ah Rand, there you are. They're safe, so quit hiding already!"

Suddenly Rand appeared in the same fashion he disappeared. "Sorry. I've been on my nerves lately since leaving our universe. We were looking for someone and that someone was here. We need to get going, but enjoy the stable."

Before the duo were about to leave, Josh had a question and was trying to figure out a way to say it. After a moment, he just blurted it out, "Are you guys a couple?"

Rand blushed slightly and Bel beamed. "You bet!" Bel then shifted into an energy form and Rand held onto him then they disappeared just as Kate and David were walking up.

"So those two were responsible for this stable?" Kate flatly spoke, killing the silence.

"Looks like it, mom. Shall we check it out?"

"Maybe later, David and I need to run to town to check for an update regarding the power issue that never seems to solve itself. Its like it has a mind of its own. Plus, we need to get diesel for the generator as the tanks seem to be running a bit low. The weather is calling for storms soon, but I don't know how bad they will be, so be careful." Kate smiled warmly as she walked towards the SUV with David. David stopped short before disappearing around the corner and turned around, "Don't forget about Doug!"

"We won't, dad!" Josh spoke as he walked towards toe house to check up on Doug. As Kate and David pulled out, Doug started crying and Josh quickly came in his room to check up on him. It seemed he needed changing and Josh proceeded to change him when he heard Jason shouting from downstairs. Josh wasn't sure what it was but hurried up and quickly and ran down the steps with Doug in his arms.

"Dude! Theres a tornado heading towards us!"

Josh looked over Jason's shoulder in disbelief, then horror as he saw the huge tornado heading towards them!

To be continued!

Author's Note:

Being drafted for this was fun. Writing this was even more fun so, yes folks, that is indeed, a CLIFFHANGER! If it ain't, then I don't know what else it is! It seems the family has had quite a few visitors lately from other universes. Too bad these two didn't stick around long enough to simply whisk the tornado away. They were on a mission and their mission lies elsewhere. Stay tuned for the next chapter... as well as something new from me!
