It Can Work Out

Chapter Seven

Tommy's POV

This morning I woke up to see Andy still sleeping. Like yesterday morning, I watched in detail his serene expression, the sounds of his regular breathing, the subtle movement of his eyelids as he dreamed; I felt it drawing my heart even closer to him. I watched his slumber for maybe fifteen minutes before he showed signs of waking.

I gently pressed my lips against his causing him to open his eyes. I broke the kiss and saw his smile and softly said to him, "Good morning, babe."

He stretched and yawned before saying, "Good morning to you, sexy. I don't think I've slept better in my life. I wish we could sleep together every night."

"Me too, but you and I both know that's not gonna happen any time soon. I'm just happy for what we've had so far, and hope we can do it more in the future."

Andy nodded. "Are you nervous about what's gonna happen today? I know I am a little."

"Kinda, but I also know in my heart we need to do this. I'm sure together we can do this." I didn't want to tell him that my stomach felt like a thousand butterflies were bouncing around, trying to find their way out. I just couldn't put that much pressure on him.

Andy nodded. We shared another kiss, deeper this time then got out of bed grabbing some clothes and snuck naked across the hall to the bathroom. After relieving our bladders, we shared a shower, lovingly washing each other. I had a real hard time not jumping his bones in the shower, but I was a good boy. I really enjoyed washing his hair. The feel of my fingers running through his hair was a major turn on, I have to remember to do this again when we have time to be a bit more playful. We got out of the shower and we both horsed around toweling each other off. I fixed his hair right after he did mine. Oh I so love the feel of his hair.

We went downstairs and into the kitchen where Mike and Jim were at the table enjoying their morning coffee. After we greeted them good morning, as I sat and Andy grabbed cereal, milk, and SunnyD along with bowls and glasses for both of us. He placed the items on the table and sat next to me.

"Good morning guys, you look well rested." Mike playfully quipped.

Jim, set his paper down and smiled at both of us before saying, "Good morning to you too, both of you. I hope you don't mind, but I peeked my head in on you two last night, after not receiving a reply to my knock on the door, and you looked so cute sleeping together. I never thought I'd be so proud of you, Andy. You too Tommy. You two truly make me believe your love is real."

This kinda creeped me out a little until Andy soothed my nerves when he chuckled and said, "Guess I need to get a lock for my door, huh? Seriously, Dad, it's okay. If you say you knocked first, it's okay."

"Andy, both of you have earned our trust. But, if you feel you want a lock for your door, I'll supply it." Jim said a little disheartened.

"Naw, it's okay Dad. I was kidding. I love you, you know that?" I wanted to tell him I loved him too, but it kinda felt weird to say that just yet so I said, "And I L...Like you a lot too, Jim."

"Tommy, you have done something for my son and I will never be able to repay you. Before we moved, after Andy came out to his friends, he was suffering from a very deep depression, he doesn't know I knew that, but since meeting you, and your relationship grew, I haven't seen him happier. As far as I'm concerned you're part of the family. I can truly say I love you both."

This kind of made my heart swell which caused me to blush, but I turned to Andy and gave him a chaste kiss before replying, "Thanks Dad" Giggling.. Geez, it felt really good to call him that. I know my 'real' dad isn't coming back, and even if he did, he hasn't been much of a dad since he left if he even was before he left.

"So, you guys ready for the big announcement?" Mike inquired.

"I think so, Andy and I spoke about it last night while we were in bed, and I think we're ready. Sure, it's gonna be scary, talking in front of everyone in the school, but it's also important." I told them even though I was holding back exactly how scary it was to me.

"I think it's going to be less of a problem than we're thinking, but it's better to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best." Andy stated.Damn, he can be so logical at times, I'm so impressed with his mind, almost as impressed as I am with his heart… or body.

The conversation continued throughout breakfast, but finally it was time to head to school. We grabbed our backpacks and headed toward the door when we were stopped by Jim and Mike.

"We'll drop you at school then take off for an hour or so before heading back for the assembly. We'll pick up your mom on our way back to the school, Tommy" Mike said.

"That'd be cool, thanks Grandpa!" Andy enthused.

"Yeah, thanks Grandpa Mike." I figure since I'm trying out calling JimDad I might as well try calling Mike Grandpa Mike, Jim did say he considers me part of the family.

Everyone loaded up into Mike's van and we headed to the school. Dropping us off at school, Mike wished us luck, which was seconded by Jim who added, "We're all behind you 100% guys."

We pushed the doors in front of our school and went to our homeroom. Being the first to arrive, our teacher, Mr. Johnson approached us and said, "Mr. Wolfe informed us of what you guys are doing and I must say I'm shocked. Shocked in a good way. You guys are showing your true metal. If you need anything, please let me know." I thought it was cool that he liked what we were going to do.

"Actually, we're going to be starting a Gay/Straight Alliance club and we're going to need a faculty advisor." Andy challenged. Go Andy! He doesn't miss a beat, does he?

"Count me in. I'm honored you'd ask me." He replied.

About this time the other students began arriving, so Mr. Johnson went back to his desk. Homeroom activities finished as usual and everyone talked softly amongst themselves until the bell rang. They all filed out heading to their first period classes as we walked to the office. Andy and I didn't talk about what was going to happen, I know I didn't want anyone to overhear what we were saying.

Mr. Wolfe met us in the outer office when we arrived and led us to a conference room. In the room were several men and women who Mr. Wolfe introduced as members of the school board. After everyone had found seats, Mr. Wolfe called the meeting to order. That's when I really started to get nervous. A bunch of older adults all stared at the two of us; some looked more annoyed than others.

He introduced us to the others before beginning. "Today we'd planned an assembly to address our new expanded anti-bullying program, but yesterday, these two brave young men approached me as I was finishing my breakfast to tell me that they wanted to make an announcement to the student body. I heard them out, and I feel they have weighed all of the possible repercussions, and, with your approval, I'm going to grant their request."

"What sort of announcement?" Asked one man.

I cleared the lump in the my throat. "Andy and I are going to come out telling them that we're gay and are a couple. We also plan on announcing that we are starting a Gay/Straight Alliance club here at the school. We felt that heading off the rumor mill by just being up front would lessen any possible problems." There, I said it. Heck, that was easier than I thought it would be to say. Maybe this isn't going to be so hard.

One of the women spoke out, "Have you spoken to your parents about this?"

"Mr. Wolfe sat with us, our parents, and my grandfather yesterday, and they'll all be here for the assembly." Andy answered. Am I imagining things or is his voice quivering a little?

Another man turned to Mr. Wolfe and asked, "Have you reviewed district policy on this?"

"I have, and I also called the Superintendent who gave his approval." At this moment they all noticed another man had entered the room. This guy looked important. You know how someone can just give off the impression that they're just 'the shit'? Well, this guy gave me that impression.

"I certainly have. I wasn't planning on being here today, but I wanted to meet these two brave young lads, and also wanted to add my own two cents to this conversation. When I was at school there were a couple of boys who were in much the same situation as these two boys. Unfortunately, society wasn't as accepting as ours is today, and, when it was found out, the two had enormous difficulties with the other students. I am proposing a new district policy dealing with sexual orientation as a result of what's going to happen here today. The idea that was presented to me about a Gay/Straight Alliance is a stupendous one and I plan on recommending, no, requiring it in all of the schools in the district." Okay, like WOW! I never thought this would happen. I'm starting to really believe this wasthe best thing for us to do.

"Mr. Anderson, I'm pleasantly surprised that you decided to join us today." Mr. Wolfe stated.

The rest of the meeting they discussed the way things would happen. This was the boring part of the meeting for me. Approval for our announcement was given and at about ten minutes before ten, the meeting adjourned. I felt kinda adult after this meeting, I don't really know why, but I did.

I started feeling the butterflies in my stomach again as we walked from the room to the stage then behind the curtain I turned to Andy and said, "I'm starting to get a little nervous."

Andy took my hand and gave me a peck on the cheek. "I'm right here with you. It's gonna be fine." He always makes me feel better when he does that, but I could tell by how clammy his hand was that he was just as nervous as I. But he was putting up a brave face to try to keep me calm. This only served to make me love him even more, if that was at all possible since he already had secured all that I am.

When I peeked around the curtain, I saw Mom, Jim, and Mike sitting off to the side of the stage and the entire student body sitting in front of me. Mr. Wolfe went to the podium and got everyone's attention, "Good Morning. As many of you were aware, this school and all the schools in our district have adopted an Anti-Bullying policy. This policy, while it's been effective in reducing the number of incidents, in our estimation falls short. We will not tolerate any form of bullying by any of our students or faculty. Anyone caught engaging in this type of activity will receive a seven day in-school suspension for the first offense. The second offense will earn those involved a four day full suspension, and should someone be dense enough to have a third offense, we will petition the school board for the expulsion of that student permanently."

"This extends to non-school hours as well. I mentioned that this policy extends to faculty as well as students. We have discussed this with the Teacher's Union and they have agreed to our policy. Any faculty member found to have engaged in or supported such acts will be punished according to the union contract, up to, and including termination."

"Next, I have been asked by two of your peers to make an announcement. I would like you all to pay attention to your peers and show them every courtesy. Please welcome, Thomas Taylor and Andrew Reynolds."

Okay, here goes nothing. Andy and I walked out from behind the curtain and nodded a 'thank you' to Mr. Wolfe. As we approached the podium I looked out at the crowd, oddly, my nerves simply went calm, the butterflies disappeared. I stepped closer to the podium and said, "Hi. I'm Tommy, and most of you have known me for years. At the beginning of the school year, Andy, (I motioned toward him) moved to our town and I was assigned to be his student helper. Since then we got to know each other quite well and some things developed. We fell in love. What I'm saying is I'm gay, and so is Andy, and we're now dating." Damn, that was way easier than I thought it would be and it felt awesome!

I noticed a commotion of some kind near the back of the room. One boy stood and yelled, "Fucking Fags! We don't want you here!" I was surprised when he was booed by most of the other kids before a Security Guard led him out. Mr. Wolfe approached the microphone and almost pushed me away from the podium.

"This type of behavior will not be tolerated. I thank those of you who made it clear that this person's opinion, and that's all it is… an opinion, is not shared by all of you. I'm sorry, Thomas, please continue." Man, was he pissed!

It took me a second to get my thoughts in order but I continued, "Wow...okay...um...look, telling all of you this was totally scary, okay? But we both felt that if we told you, up front, we could get around all the rumor mill and stuff. Andy and I love each other, just like any of you might love a boyfriend or girlfriend. Neither of us chose to be gay, just like none of you who are straight chose not to be gay."

My baby stepped to the microphone and continued, "Hey, I'm Andy. Tommy and I would also like to announce that with Mr. Johnson as our faculty advisor, we are forming a Gay/Straight Alliance club. It's a club that anyone, Gay, Straight, Bisexual, Transgendered, Pansexual, or Questioning can join. We'll be able to talk about issues related to sexual identity, coming out, or just supporting each other whether we are having problems with a boyfriend or girlfriend... whatever. We believe that it's through open communication with each other that we can break the way people think about someone living an alternative lifestyle and I hope you will all consider joining. We will post announcements when our first meeting will be and at that time we will elect officers from among those who've joined. Thanks for listening. I believe Superintendent Anderson wanted to make a statement. Thanks again, guys."

When we left the podium I heard a rousing applause from the whole auditorium. Cheers and wolf whistles, we stood on stage facing everybody held hands and raised them high over our heads so everyone could see. I was so proud, and relieved, at that moment, I had trouble holding back tears of joy!

Superintendent Anderson came over and shook our hands. He then stepped to the podium. "Good Morning. You have just witnessed history. Never before in the history of this district have there been two students who were brave enough to stand up in front of any group of students and make such an important announcement. I was happy to see the reaction to that one individual who chose to speak out against this. The truth is, that in the US, one in every ten people are gay. This means many of the kids who have been in your shoes in the years past have been in the same shoes as Tommy and Andy. The difference is, that we need to not only stand to make the initial act to stomp out bullying, we need to create an environment in all of our schools to promote inclusion, and allow all of us to practice and learn how to transition ourselves to being better citizens as adults.

We understand that there are many different points of view on whether Homosexuality, or any other supposedly not normal lifestyle is appropriate; however, school is not the place to voice them. School is a place to learn, and this includes learning to live with people with different views to your own, in other words, to be tolerant of those who are different from us or have different views. This district is in full support of this new club and it will be implemented at every school in this district. I am instructing any teacher to grant a request by any student to go to the conference room adjacent to the office. I have excused these two fine young men from classes for today so that they might answer any questions their peers may have. I am proud of these two young men, as should you all be. Thank you."

I turned to Andy and whispered in his ear, "Is this really happening? It seems like a dream!" He whispered back, "It's happening Babe, I'm so proud of you, you did great!" He took my hand and the moment his fingers touched mine, I knew we would be okay. Damn, I love him more and more every time he talks!

Mr. Wolfe then concluded the assembly, "This concludes our assembly today. You may have free time to talk until the beginning of third period where we expect you all to report to class. Thank you and have a good day."

We left the stage and made our way back to the conference room where Mom gave both of us a huge hug. "I'm so proud of both of you. I think you guys did the right thing and it appears that the other kids are at least going to be tolerant."

Well, I hope at least most of them will be tolerant.

Mom let us go and Jim, Mike, Mom, Andy and I sat around the table. We looked outside the conference room and there were about five kids waiting to talk to us already. Mr. Anderson and Mr. Wolfe told us how proud they were and Mr. Anderson gave us each a card with his office and cellular phone numbers and told us to call him at any time if we needed anything. Mr. Wolfe told our parents, and Mike that they should wrap up their visit, so we could get on with the myriad of questions that were likely to be asked. He told our families that a security guard would be on hand to make sure no trouble makers tried to take advantage of this situation. After that, they left the room.

"Andy, Tommy, You did good today, guys. I think you did something really important today, and Mr. Anderson was right, you two made history." Jim stated enthusiastically.

Grandpa smiled at us and simply said, "I never had any doubt. Good job guys."

We hugged everyone and they left. We took a few minutes to calm down before I turned to Andy and asked if he was ready for us to see the first person who had questions. He nodded, so I went to the door and opened it.

"Hey. Only one person at a time, please unless two of you have a question to ask together. But no more than two, okay?" I then went back to my seat followed by our first 'customer'.

After we'd seen almost twenty students, but felt more like fifty, we had a bunch of people who said they'd be joining the alliance, others just wanted to tell us they thought what we did was totally awesome, and a few just wanted to ask questions about how we knew we were gay and we loved each other. That's when a boy entered, he appeared to be our age, had sandy blond hair and was about my height. His deep blue eyes kind of caught my attention, they were kind of hypnotic in a way. Other than that, he was pretty much average. I'd seen him around but never really talked to him. Looking at him I couldn't help but think he was cute, but not as cute as my baby was to me.

"Hey guys, I'm Tyler. I've seen you around, but we've never really talked. You guys really did something today. I was like, 'Whoa!' You see, I'm gay, but you two are the first I've ever told that to." Tyler said with a blush.

"Nice to meet you, Tyler. Yeah, I've seen you around. And I know I speak for both of us when I say we're honored you chose us to come out to first," Andy told him, sounding as sincere as he could.

"What you guys did took real balls. I just wish I could do it too. I'm pretty lonely." Tyler said sadly. I wanted to reach out and hug him, but this wasn't really the place to do that. Instead I asked him a question. "Tyler, why don't we get together and talk sometime, outside of school?"

"Are you sure? I think I'd like that." Tyler said, looking from me to Andy and back.

"Well, you should join the alliance, Tyler. You never know, you might meet someone special." I suggested to him.

"That would be cool!" Andy enthused.

"Hey, we should exchange cell numbers!" Andy exclaimed.

Tyler smiled as I handed him a piece of paper and a pen. I wrote down my cell and Andy's cell and we exchanged them.

"Okay, I'll see you around, and I will be joining your alliance. Thanks guys, you're totally awesome!" Tyler said before waving and leaving.

By the time lunchtime had arrived we'd talked to almost forty students. Mr. Wolfe came in and asked if we wanted him to get us some lunch. Andy spoke up, "No thanks, Mr. Wolfe. We want to go to the cafeteria. No good comes from this if we stay here. We'll go to the cafeteria, eat lunch and come back at the end of lunch to see if there are any more people with questions." I felt that way too. I mean they can clap in an assembly all they want, but it really takes eating lunch in the cafeteria to really see where they stand on the issue.

"That's fine, if you feel up to it. I'll have the Security Guard keep an eye out. Just in case." I actually started to wonder if the guard was really necessary, but I guess it was better to be safe than sorry.

We left the conference room shortly after the halls cleared from those leaving their classes and heading to lunch. Holding hands as we walked, we arrived at the cafeteria and entered as the entire cafeteria broke out in applause. We just stood there, momentarily stunned and startled by the response. I was breathless, like, wow!

As we approached the lunch line, we heard people calling to us:

"You guys are awesome!" One of the football team members shouted.

"Man, you guys have must balls the size of an elephant, I could never do something like that!" Said another boy. I wondered if he was trying to tell us something with the way he said that.

"Why do all the cute ones have to be gay?" One girl asked. That one made me laugh a little. I playfully winked at her.

Comment after comment was shouted to us, and only a few were not positive. When one was shouted, other students jumped that person by telling them to shut up!

We got our lunch and sat at an empty table. As we ate, people stopped by and patted us on the back, or wanted to shake our hands. It seemed like we had become instant celebrities! We finished lunch and returned to the meeting room. By the end of the day, we'd met with nearly a hundred kids. We kept count and had sixty who said they wanted to join the alliance.

Mr. Wolfe came in and told us that he'd spoken to our parents and he'd arranged transportation home for us and he was excusing us fifteen minutes early to avoid the crowds. He thanked us again and told us how good a job we'd done and wished us a good evening saying he'd see us tomorrow. He asked the guard to escort us outside the building and into a waiting taxicab who took us back to Andy's house.

Andy's POV

It had been a really intense day and I could tell that Tommy was really on edge, even though he tried to hide it. As soon as we got in the door after being dropped off by the taxi, I pulled him to me and kissed him deeply. I was so proud of how he handled himself today. I was afraid that he'd break under all the pressure. The feel of his lips against mine, his tongue probing my mouth, his hands rubbing ever so gently across my back and butt, I never wanted this to end.

We were interrupted from our oral connection by a forced cough behind us. We broke our kiss and turned to see Grandpa Mike grinning at us."Uh, sorry Grandpa, it's been a rough day and I was trying to calm Tommy down." I told him with a grin on my face.

Grandpa Mike chuckled before saying, "Don't worry, I'm real proud of you boys, and I understand your need to 'calm'each other, but you've been at it for nearly five minutes."

"Really? That long?" Tommy asked in a very surprised voice. That tone of voice makes him seem cute at that moment, okay, he's always cute, but he's cuter when he does that.

We went into the living room and found Dad and Becky sitting and talking. Tommy, Grandpa Mike, and I sat on the sofa and I took Tommy's hand in mine.

"I'm so proud of you two!" Becky pretty much shouted. "You really put it on the line, and, with the exception of a minor idiot, it went really well. You spoke from the heart and I think the others really accepted it." I think my head swelled from her gushing, hehe.

"So, how many questions did you have to answer the rest of the day?" Dad asked.

"Almost a hundred. Most were really just supporting us and telling us they'd be joining the Alliance. We did have a couple boys who came out to us and that was cool. One boy, Tyler, seemed as if he could really use a friend or two, so we asked him if he wanted to hang out sometime, we exchanged cell numbers." I explained.

"When we went to the cafeteria, everyone clapped and cheered for us. I was kinda embarrassed by that, but I got over it. Now that it's all over, I'm really glad we did this." Tommy added.

"Well, you guys did exactly what needed to be done. You were quite fortunate to have the support of Mr. Wolfe and even I was surprised that Mr. Anderson showed up and took the stance he did." Mike told us.

"We've got a lot of work ahead of us getting the Alliance set up. I think we need to talk to Mr. Johnson about it. I'll ask him when we can meet. That okay with you, Babe?" I said, mostly to Tommy.

"Yeah, I just want to say that when we elect officers, I don't want us to be one of them. True, we got this going, but it's not about us. Sure, we'll be active, but I just want to let others take control." Tommy replied.

"I don't know if they'll go for that, Tommy. You guys got the ball rolling, so at least in the beginning, I think the only chance this group has to get started on the right foot is for you two to agree to take the reins." Dad said.

"I think that if we agree to be part of the steering committee, we can get others to take the officer positions." I voiced, mostly thinking out loud.

"That might work. I don't mind doing what I can to help, but I don't want the responsibility of actually running things." Tommy said.

Grandpa suggested that we end this conversation for now. He offered to take everyone out for a celebratory dinner. So, after agreeing to this, everyone began to get ready.

Tommy and I were upstairs, having just finished our shower. Tommy was acting all frisky but I told him, even though I wanted to, that we had to just get clean and dressed. While we were getting dressed when we heard Dad shouting. I opened the door and heard, "...I can't believe they did that! This could cause some serious backlash!" This scared me a little, but I tried to hide it from Tommy, I don't know how successful I was because he had a bit of fear in his eyes. We finished dressing and went downstairs. "What's happened Dad?" I asked.

"I just saw a report on the news about what you guys did today. Mr. Wolfe and Mr. Anderson called press conference. They told what had happened at school today and are taking all the credit for setting it up! Then they told your names and showed pictures of each of you! Without permission, I might add. I think we're going to have to have words with Mr. Anderson. I know both he and Mr. Wolfe have political aspirations and I can't believe they're using you two to gain political clout! I am really pissed right now!" Dad explained. I've seen him pissed before but this time I'd hide if he was pissed at me!

I could tell that Tommy was frightened, I could see it on his face. I was too, but tried not to show it. Again, Grandpa Mike stepped in to calm things down. "Jim, I agree with you, but blowing up now isn't helping. Tomorrow, you and Becky should stop in to see him. Boys, you should go on as if nothing has happened…for now. It's a terrible thing when men like them use events they had little control over to gain public approval. While you are meeting with him, I'll contact my lawyer and see if we have any possible claim. But for tonight, let's go to dinner and show these boys how very proud we are of them."

At that moment, the phone rang and Dad answered it.

After hanging up, Dad said, "We may have a problem. Boys, will you please wait for us outside, we'll be there in a moment." I started to worry at that point.

We were about to head out the front door when Dad told us to wait in the back yard. This was odd, but we did as we were asked. Tommy and I embraced and kissed again while the adults talked inside. His kisses always help me calm down… well, not calm, but least not worrying, if you know what I mean.

Jim's POV

"That call may be the precursor to a problem, a huge problem." I told them. I was so pissed at that point if I'd seen either of those assholes, I'd beat the shit out of them.  What the hell were they thinking?.

I could tell that Becky was worried. "What did they say?" She asked.

I repeated exactly what the caller said, "Fags have no right to live! Death to all fags!"

Becky, seemed to be shocked into silence, her hand was over her mouth, and she shed a tear which ran down her cheek.

"Jim, you need to call the police. When they arrive, you need to explain everything, and ask for their help." Mike stated before continuing, "I'll take the boys out for dinner while you deal with that."

They agreed and Mike got the boys and I told them, "Guys, something has come up and Becky and I need to be here for a while, so Grandpa Mike is going to take you two out for dinner."

Tommy's POV

I knew something was up when they told us to head to the backyard, but when we returned, I knew it was bad. Mom looked really frightened and this got me even more on edge and I felt like I needed to get out of there. Now I was worried that we might not have made the right choice. We might not have thought of everything that could happen. I didn't know exactly what it was, but something in that phone call really got to Jim.

We left the house and got into Grandpa Mike's van. You know, it's getting easier to think of him as Grandpa, it's kinda neat. As Andy and I sat there in the back, holding each other's hand, we rode in silence. After a minute or two, Grandpa spoke. "Guys, I will never lie to you or hold back information. The reason we went out is that Jim and Becky are going to call the police about that phone call. Some idiot made a threat. Now, I don't want you two to worry, we'll handle it."

That scared me even more, and I could tell by how Andy squeezed my hand he was just as scared. I had to ask one question. "Grandpa? Why would Mr. Anderson and Mr. Wolfe do this to us?"

"Tommy, sometimes people have their own agenda. They will use any means, or anyone to attain them. What he did was wrong, and if I could contact him right now, I'd explain to him exactly how bad he messed up." Grandpa replied.

"We have his phone numbers, both at work and his cell." Andy said. I'd actually forgotten about that.

Grandpa pulled over and asked for the numbers. Which Andy gave him by giving Grandpa the card he'd been given.

Grandpa picked up his phone and made the call. I could only barely hear his side because he was speaking softly into the phone, and I really didn't understand much of what I did hear. He talked on the phone for about five minutes before hanging up, I just held on to Andy's hand trying to calm my nerves.

When he'd finished, he didn't say anything more than, "This is going to prove to be a very bad day for Mr. Wolfe and Mr. Anderson, but for now, let's celebrate, you guys did something amazing and I need to show you how proud I am."

He restarted the van and pulled away from the curb.

Andy turned to me and gave me a very tender kiss, and hugged me in his arms. I felt so good and safe in his arms. We stayed like that for the next five minutes until pulling into the restaurant's parking lot.

We looked at the building and I said, "Grandpa, why are we here, this is the best restaurant in town! It's way too expensive."

"Nothing is too expensive where my boys are concerned, let's eat!" He replied.

We entered the restaurant and the hostess showed us to our table. On the way I saw Mr. Johnson… and he was kissing another man! What the fuck?

… to be continued ...
